 | We celebrate two Baptisms in the Padre Pio Chapel each Sunday at 11am and 11.30am. The chapel seats approximately 60 people, which gives you the opportunity to celebrate your child’s Baptism with your family and friends on a personal level. | The following information is an outline of what should be done during your family’s preparation for this special Sacrament.
Step 1 You have already completed this first step of calling the Parish Office to find out how to arrange a Baptism and you have spoken to the Baptism co-ordinator. Step 2 A member of the Baptism team will visit you, at which time they will supply you with an application form, information sheet, bookmark, this checklist and a donation envelope. Step 3 You will have booked a date with the Baptism co-ordinator to attend a group discussion about your child’s Baptism. Both parents need to attend this evening. Step 5 During the discussion evening, your presenter would have informed you that the first part of the Rite of Baptism takes place during the weekend Mass. You should ensure to arrange a date for this prior to the date set for your child’s Baptism. Please take with you the information sheet given to you at the home visit and give it to the person at the Welcome Table at the entry of the worship space 10 to 15 minutes before the commencement of Mass. They will inform the priest of your arrival. Please sit at the front of the congregation to facilitate movement. Step 6 The Baptism of your child is the next step. The date of the Baptism should already have been booked with the Baptism co-ordinator. You should arrange for the baptism of your baby before he/she is born. Many are surprised at how difficult it is to get a suitable date when they leave it too long.
